What is HD tile technology? Looks can be deceiving…

We all know looks can be deceiving, you just have to look to the fashion industry to see how the British public love to emulate key looks and trends but without the designer price tags. The same can be said when it comes to tiles. New developments in high definition inkjet technology  have allowed manufacturers to recreate almost any pattern, texture or effect onto ceramic tile, but what does this mean for you and your design project? Let’s explain:

Inkjet printing takes an image and transfers it onto a ceramic tile. Any design whether it’s a detailed marble-effect, a stunning geometric pattern or classic wood-effect, the same look can be recreated on a ceramic tile. As well as offering a much more affordable option, ceramic tiles are extremely easy to fit, hardwearing, suitable for high traffic areas and require no special maintenance like natural stone or real timber.

Why not use wood-effect tiles in a wet room, giving you a natural and organic look without worrying about your real wood warping or expanding if it’s exposed to water. Or for an effortlessly cool look with an industrial edge, team a concrete-effect tile with an urban grey patterned tile without having to worry about special preparation or maintenance associated with natural stone products.
