Interior Design Predictions for 2017

Interior Design Predictions for 2017

Looking forward to the year ahead, there’s plenty to get excited about with new colours, designs and innovations bringing fresh, new collections to the industry. Chic and modern, grey has become the modern day magnolia. The hottest neutral to sweep across the world of interiors, grey offers a multitude of different shades from gunmetal to slate, graphite to pewter and looks set to remain a firm favourite.

Deep blue is also set to be a key trend for 2017. A bold, daring shade, it’s a colour that effortlessly translates to tiles whether it’s used sparingly as a decorative motif or full strength across a plain gloss tile. Rich, gloss finishes across large and small format tiles will also feature heavily across new ranges.

Warm, textural and full of natural charm, wood-effect ceramic and porcelain tiles have taken the industry by storm, but there is a movement towards smaller formats and interesting herringbone patterns rather than classic, elongated planks.

No longer confined to just the kitchen or bathroom, multiuse tiles are transforming the way in which consumers are decorating their homes with designs now much more impactful, flowing from one space to another. Designs that continue from the wall to the floor create a beautiful continuous pattern and are becoming increasingly fashionable with consumers.

Floors are now as much a consideration as walls, with a variety of floor tile collections now on offer. Geometric patterns, luxurious marble and stone effects will become a key feature, especially on large format tiles, allowing consumers to make stand out features of their floors.
