British Ceramic Tile Step Out at London Fashion Week
We’ve often mused that fashion and interior design are inexplicably linked. After all, both are key ways that we express our individuality and unique sense of style, aren’t they? It’s for this reason that we are delighted to have supported one of the biggest fashion events in the world, London Fashion Week.
Our involvement saw us tiling the New Gen area at the show, a space dedicated to celebrating the designers of the future. We’ve supplied 60 square metres of our lovely mono gloss wall tiles from the Colour Compendium range to provide a neutral backdrop for the young talent on show.
It’s not our first time stepping out at London Fashion Week, in fact it’s our second year collaborating and supplying our trend focussed tiles to the event. We’re always seeking ways to further blend the lines between fashion and interior design, as evidenced by our ranges from Ted Baker and Laura Ashley.
In fact, we recently hosted Ted Baker’s in-house historian, Peter McDonough who mused that “inspiration can come from the unlikeliest source” in the fashion and interiors world. Something that we wholeheartedly agree with at British Ceramic Tile.
When asked about British Ceramic Tile’s involvement at London Fashion Week, Marketing Director, Caryn Clarke had this to say: “Fashion, trends and design are at the heart of our business, and shape the future of our product collections which is why we take great pride in supporting LFW. It’s a fantastic British institution and a key highlight for our design team visiting the show. We’re sure they will come back filled with inspiration and ideas for 2017.”
Head of Design, Claire O’Brien was also excited about our involvement in the event, commenting: “We all know that what we choose to wear expresses our personality, and the same can be said for how we dress our homes. It all makes a statement. From soft furnishings through to lighting and tiles, every room in the home reflects a little piece of us, highlighting just how closely linked the catwalk is with interior design. Even the likes of Matthew Williamson and Julien MacDonald have turned their hand to interior design, launching collections that take their design cues straight from the fashion arena.”
