British Ceramic Tile reach the final shortlist for the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2008

We are pleased to announce that British Ceramic Tile's Supply Chain and Procurement have reached the final shortlist for the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2008 within the Sourcing and Procurement Category.

"Awards Objectives
• to recognise achievement in supply chain management across Europe
• to provide a focus for promotion of these achievements within and beyond the discipline
• to reward those companies who have attained the highest standards
• to highlight the importance of, and the opportunities offered by, excellent supply chain management
• to celebrate as an industry the successes of the past year

Past winners of these Awards include some of the biggest names and the best practitioners in the business. Europe's most successful manufacturers, retailers and service providers enter the awards every year - the organisations everyone would like to be associated with.

Winners from the past four years include:

• Tesco Direct
• Homebase
• Vodafone
• International Federation of the Red Cross
• DHL Logistics
• J Sainsbury
• Johnson & Johnson
• Coca Cola
• Goodyear
• British Airways
• Glaxo Smithkline

The Judges were thoroughly impressed with the high quality of entries across all categories and this was reflected in the depth of debate and time taken to judge each category. It is therefore a significant achievement to be named as a finalist at the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards."

There will now be a second stage of follow up discussions and potentially a site visit.

The full list of shortlisted companies is due to be available in early August with the awards ceremony taking place at the Grosvenor Hotel on Tuesday 28th October 2008.
